Bunions, also known as hallux valgus, is a common condition of the foot and involves the big toe moving sideways towards the second toe and is often painful. They can cause an impaired balance, difficulty walking and completing day to day activities. Bunions can form as a result of genetics, age, poor footwear and other foot deformities such as flat feet.
