(Tinea Pedis)


Service Description

Tinea pedis is a fungal infection of the feet. The type of fungi that causes tinea prefer warm and moist environments so the foot can be an ideal environment for growth of tines when wearing shoes/socks for a longer period of time, excessive sweating of the foot and the material of socks worn can be less breathable. Tinea generally starts between the toes and can spread further on the foot and nails. Symptoms- Tinea can have the following symptoms: - Bad smell - Burning/itchiness - Peeling rash - Red scales - Dryness generally in the sole and heel - Discoloration/thickening of toe nails - Cracking of skin If you have any of these symptoms it is advised that you see one of our podiatrists for treatment options.
